Document Description
The project consists of a redesigned proposal for the Carrillo Hotel which was originally approved by the Planning Commission on June 18, 1998. The previously approved project consisted of two components, each to be developed on a separate parcel. The demolition of the existing Carrillo Hotel building (five-story, 174 room, 74,208 sf, including 5,000 sf of retail space on the ground floor), and the construction of a new business hotel on the same property (five-story, 95 room, 74,175 sf including 5,772 sf of meeting/conference space in the basement, a 4,439 sf, 140 seat restaurant and bar on the ground floor, and a small swimming pool, deck, and patio on the roof terrace). Access for automobiles and pedestrians was proposed to be via a porte-cochere that opens onto Carrillo Street. Access from the hotel site to and from the parking structure is proposed to be via a new entrance/exit for valet parking staff only.
