The site is currently a paved parking lot. The property is designated Public/Quasi Public on the County General Plan and is zoned AG-80.
Document Description
The proposed project includes construction and operation of a six (6) level parking garage immediately southwest of Terminal A. A five (5) level garage was previously approved at this location in 1999. The garage site is currently a paved surface parking lot. During construction, the current lot would be removed, resulting in a short-term loss of 854 hourly parking spaces; the Department of Airports has indicated it will provide temporary parking to make up for this loss. The garage is proposed to contain 5,170 spaces intended for use primarily by Terminal A passengers. A pedestrian bridge is proposed between the garage and Terminal A. The existing surface parking lot entrances and exits would remain unchanged and be used in conjunction with the proposed parking garage.
