Document Description
SCVWD proposes, under a long term agreement with Semitropic to the year 2035, to store up to 350,000 acre-feet in Semitropic's groundwater banking program. Farmers located within the Semitropic service area could use this suface water in lieu of pumping groundwater for irrigation. Alternatively, SCVWD's SWP water could be banked through direct recharge of the underlying groundwater basin. Upon request, Semitropic would return SCVWD's stored water either by pumping the groundwater from the underlying basin through a pumpback facility, and into the California Aqueduct and the SWP supply pool, or by allowing SCVWD to receive an equivalent portion of Semitropic's SWP Table water in exchange.
