The California Department of Toxic Substances Control (DTSC), pursuant to authority granted under California Code of Regulations, Title 22, Division 4.5, Chapter 20, Section 66270.42 prepared an Addendum to a previously adopted 1997 Initial Study/Negative Declaration (IS/ND) to evaluate activities associated with the Class 2 Permit Modification request to the existing Hazardous Waste Facility Permit (Permit) for Safety-Kleen of California, Inc. The Class 2 Permit Modification will authorize Safety-Kleen of California, Inc. (Facility) to operate two existing 500-gallon tanks in the facility’s wastewater treatment system and update the Contingency Plan. The Facility is located at 6880 Smith Avenue in Newark, California 94560. There are no operational or physical changes, and no ground disturbing activities proposed by the Facility.
