Document Description
MRWMD is proposing to accept 30,000 tons per year of municipal solid waste from Santa Cruz County at their Monterey Peninsula Landfill (MPL). The acceptance of this waste is anticipated to continue for at least ten years (and may increase in volume up to 150,000 tons per day per year), until Santa Cruz County decides on a permanent method to dispose of future waste. The waste is currently landfilled at Santa Cruz County's Buena Vista Landfill on Buena Vista Road off of SR 1 near Watsonville. This IS analyzes the impacts of truck trips on SR 1 from Buena Vista Road in Santa Cruz County to Del Monte Boulevard north of the City of Marina in Monterey County.
