Document Description
THIS PROJECT WILL PROVIDE TRAPPING, SPAWNING AND REARING OF CHINOOK AND COHO SALMON.APPROX. 100000 CHINOOK AND 7000 COHO ALMON WILL BE REARED FOR RELEASE IN THE SPRING ON 1997 INTO WATERS OF SF EEL RIVER DRAINAGE, HUMBOLDT COUNTY,AT SITES APPROVED BY THE DEPARTMENT OF FISH AND GAME. ALL OF THE WORK WILL BE PERFORMED USING HAND CREW LABOR.THE GENERAL PROJECT WORK PRACTICES WILL NOT EMPLOY ANY HEAVY EQUIPMENT AND WILL NOT IMPOSE ANY THREAT TO FISH OR WILDLIFE. A TRAPPING AND REARING PERMIT WILL BE IN PLACE DURING ALL PHASES OF FISH HANDLING THROUGHOUT THIS PROJECT.THE PROJECT OBJECTIVE IS TO ENHANCE THE CHINOOK AND COHO SALMON POPULATIONS IN SF EEL RIVER SYSTEM.
