THE GOLDEN GATE BRIDGE, HWY & TRANS. DIST. PRPOPOSES TO STRENGTHEN THE GOLDEN GATE BRIDGE TO WITHSTAND AN EARTH- QUAKE OF 8.3 ON THE RICHTER SCALE CENTERED ON THE SAN ANDREAS FAULT AND IMPROVE WIND STABILITY TO WITHSTAND WINDS UP TO 100 MPH. THE PROPOSED PROJECT INCLUDES SITE PREPARATION, SEISMIC RETROFIT WORK OVER AN ESTIMATED FIVE YEAR CONSTRUCTION PERIOD.
