THE PROJECT IS TO ADOPT AND IMPLEMENT THE IMPERIAL/BEACH /COMMERCIAL REDEVELOPMENT PLAN FOR APPRX. 250 ACRES LOCATED GENERALLY ALONG THE COMMERCIAL CORRIDORS OF PALM AVENUE TO THE NORTHERN CITY LIMITS OF IMPERIAL BEACH. ALTHOUGH NO DEVELOPMENT OR CONSTRUCTION IS PROPOSED AT THIS TIME, IMPLEMENTATION OF THE REDEVELOPMENT PLAN IS EXPECTED TO FACILITATE COMMERCIAL, PUBLIC FACILITY AND RESIDENTIAL DEVELOPMENT IN THE PROJECT AREA IN CONFORMANCE WITH THE IMPERIAL BEACH GENERAL PLAN AND LOCAAL COASTAL PLAN, TO ADDRESS VARIOUS ENVIRONMENTAL ISSUES, AND TO MITIGATE EXISTING PUBLIC INFRASTRUCTURE SYSTEM DEFICIENCIES. THE PRIMARY PURPOSE OF THE PROPOSED REDEVELOPMENT PLAN IS TO ELIMINATE CONDITIONS OF PHYSICAL AND ECONOMIC BLIGHT THAT HINDER THE FULL DEVELOPMENT OF THE
