Document Description
The Operator proposes to fill a channel of the N-1 Channel located west of Interstate 880 and south of Auto Mall Parkway, Fremont, Alameda County. The project will occur in the portion of the Alameda County Flood Control District's "N-1" Channel which drains to Mowry Slough and San Francisco Bay, and is adjacent to the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Refuge and Pacific Commons Preserve, an area of restored wetlands created to compensate for impacts to seasonal wetlands on the Catellus Development's Pacific Commons site. The portion of the N-1 Channel within the Preserve will be filled to re-establish biological and hydrological connectivity between the Preserve, the Refuge, and the San Francisco Bay. The California Department of Fish and Game (DFG) is executing a Lake and Streambed Alteration Agreement number R3-2002-0646 pursuant to Section 1603 of the Fish and Game Code to the project operator, Mr. Jason Johannessen, Catellus Development Corporation.
