Document Description
The proposed project site is an approximately 70 acre part of an approximately 115 acre parcel in the west portion of the City of Watsonville, Santa Cruz County (Assessor Parcel # 18-281-08, 12, 14, 18 and 19). The project site is located north of Harkins Slough Road at the intersection of Lee Road west of Highway 1 within the Watsonville City limits. The project site is bounded on the north and east by Highway 1 (and further the Watsonville Airport), on the east by the West Branch Slough, on the slouth by Harkings Slough road, the Watsonville Wildlife Area, and existing apple orchards, and on the west by Hanson Slough. The project will utilize approximately 32.1 acres of the site, with the remainder utilized for enviromentally sensitve habitat (ESHA) preservation and setbacks and agricultural buffers. The proposed high school is planned to house 2,200 students, grades nine through twelve, with approximately 120 teachers, instructional aids, administrators and other personnel staffing the school at buildout. The facility is proposed to be approximately 204,500 sq. ft. in approximately multiuse room, library, and other buildings.
