Document Description
The project evaluated in the Belridge Water Storage District Environmental Impact Report (EIR) and the Palmdale Water District EIR and addendum is the implementaton of a purchase agreement between Palmdale Water District and Belridge Water Storage District for the purchase of State Water Project contractual entitlements. Under the Agreement, Palmdale Water District purchases 4,000 acre-feet in permanent entitlement which Belridge holds contractual rights to as a member unit of the Kern County Water Agency. Kern County Water Agency has a long-term contract with the Department of Water Resources for water service delivery from the State Water Project. Palmdale intends to use the water to enchance water supply reliability and decrease reliance on groundwater supplies.
