Document Description
The California Department of Fish and Game is executing a Lake and Streambed Alteration Agreement (#2000-0775) pursuant to Section 1603 of the Fish and Game Code to the project applicant, Steve Savage, Shapel Industries of Northern California. The applicant proposes to develop 968 acres, of the 2,021 acre Gale Ranch project site, into a mixed residential (4,614 units) and commercial area. Approximately 1,000 acres will be preserved as open space. The total project will impact the Main Branch of Alamo Creek, the West Branch of Alamo Creek and everal unnamed tributaries to both branches totaling 23,360 linear feet, plus two ponds (a total of 4 acres of impact). The site is located east of Crow Canyon Road in San Ramon, Contra Costa County. Due to the size of the project and the build out time, this agreement will only cover phase 2. Impacts during phase 2 include the total of approximately 19,968 linear feet of creek impacts plus two ponds.
