Document Description
The California Department of Fish and Game is executing a Lake and Streambed Alteration Agreement number 1600-2005-0208-R2 pursuant to Section 1602 of the Fish and Game Code to the project applicant, Caltrans.
Caltrans is requesting a 1602 Streambed Alteration Agreement for Phase 2/3 of the State Route 70 Upgrade. The three phases were covered under an initial EIR/EIS (January 2002) and the first phase has already been constructed. Improvements include the following: relocating utilities, widening the existing two-lane highway to a four-lane expressway, lengthening existing culverts, widening the existing bridge at the Bear River resulting in one bridge with two lanes and standard shoulders for southbound traffic and building a new bridge with two lanes and shoulders for northbound traffic.
