SO CAL GAS COMPANY HAS APPLIED FOR A RENEWAL TO THEIR HAZARDOUS WASTE STORAGE PERMIT FOR CONTAINERS AT THEIR OLYMPIC BASE FACILITY. THE DRAFT PERMIT ALLOWS CONTINUATION OF THEIR STORAGE OPERATION FOR PIPELINE CONDENSATE CONTAMINATED WITH POLYCHLORINATED BIPHENYLS IN 55-GALLON DRUMS. THE DRUMS ARE STORED IN A DEDICATED ENCLOSED CONCRETE BLOCK BUILDING BUILT IN 1985 AND MEASURES 55X45X12 FEET HIGH. BUILDING CAPACITY IS 312 55-GALLON DRUMS. TWO OUTDOOR STORAGE PADS ARE USED TO STORE DRUMS OF SOLID HAZARDOUS WASTE, SUCH AS CONTAMINATED
