THE PROPOSED PROJECT AS APPROVED BY THE CA DEPT OF CORRECTIONS INVOLVES ACTIVITIES NECESSARY TO IMPLEMENT BOTH PROJECT COMPONENTS AS DESCRIVED IN THE EIR. THEY CONSIST OF THE NEW CA STATE PRISON-SAN DIEGI EMERGENCY BED COMPONENT AT THE EXISTING RICHARD J. DONOVAN PRISON FACILITY WHICH ADDS 924 EMERGENCY INMATE BEDS WITHIN EXISTING BUILDINGS INSIDE THE EXISTING SECURE PERIMETER AND WILL EMPLOY UP TO 231 ADDITIONAL STAFF.
