THE SRRE & HHWE ARE REQUIRED BY SECTIONS 41750 & 41770 OF THE CA PUBLIC RESOURCES CODE WHICH WERE ENACTED BY THE CA INTEGRATED WASTE MANAGEMENT ACT OF 1989. THE SRRE AND THE HHWE ARE PART OF THE MONTEREY COU. INTEGRATED WASTE MANGEMENT PLAN, WHICH WILL ALSO INCLUDE A SITING ELEMENT AND A NON-DISPOSAL FACILITY ELEMENT. THE PRINCIPLE PURPOSE OF THE SRRE IS TO IDENTIFY THE PROGRAMS BY WHICH THE JURISDICTION WILL ACHIEVE WASTE DIVERSION GOALS MANDATED BY AB 939. THE PRINCIPLE PURPOSE OF THE HHWE IS TO EST- ABLISH A BLUEPRINT FOR EFFECTIVELY DIVERTING HOUSEHOLD HAZARDOUS WASTE FROM THE MUNICIPAL SOLID WASTE STREAM.
