THE SILVER LABORATORY EXPANSION PROJECT WOULD PROVIDE A NEW BUILDING OF APPRX. 42,284 GROSS SQ FT AND 25,421 ASSIGNABLE SQ FT IN THE HILL AREA OF THE BERKELEY CAMPUS IN AN APPRX. 4 ACRE SITE JUST EAST OF THE EXISTING LABORATORY AND BORDERED BY GRIZZLY PEAK BLVD. TO THE NORTH AND EAST. THE BUILDING WOULD HOUSE LIGHT-USE ELECTRONICS AND DATA ANALYSIS LABORATORIES, HEAVY DUTY LABORATORIES, RESEARCH OFFICES, A CONFERENCE ROOM/CLASS- ROOM, LOUNGE, READING ROOM, AND SUPPORT SPACE. EXISTING TRAILERS CONSSTITUTING 6000 ASF WOULD BE PERMANENTLY REPALCED. MINOR IMPROVEMENTS ARE ALSO PROPOSED FOR OFFICE AREAS OF THE EXISTING BUILDING.
