THE TRAIL WILL BE LOCATED SOUTH OF HWY. 4 AND NORTH OF LAKE ALPINE IN THE NORTHEAST PORTION OF THE CALAVERAS RANGER DISTRICT OF THE STANISLAUS NATIONAL FOREST. AN ENVIRON- MENTAL ASSESSMENT IN COMPLIANCE WITH THE NATIONAL ENVIRONMENTAL POLICY ACT (NEPA) HAS BEEN PREPARED FOR
