Document Description
Approval of Closure and Post Closure for West Contra Costa Sanitary Landfill Hazardous Waste Management Facility. Closure activities include an installation of an engineered final cover that will be connected to existing slurry walls surrounding the Class 1 unit to prevent infiltration; a subgrade fill of municipal solid waste; a leachate collection and removal system and a leachate treatment plant that will discharge following treatment to the local sanitation district under permit; and a gas monitoring system and collection system. A program is in place for continued long term operation and monitoring of these systems. The project also includes designation of Corrective Action Management Units (CAMU's) A and B for on-site waste management of closure wastes.
