THE WEST CONTRA COSTA SANITARY LANDFILL HAZARDOUS WASTE MANAGEMENT FACILITY CLOSURE/POSTCLOSURE PLANS DESIGNATES THE MEANS OF CLOSING THE WCCSL HWMF. THE 28 ACRE HWMF CONSISTS OF A HAZARDOUS WASTE LANDFILL, SURFACE IMPOUNDMENT, BARRIER WALL AND A RUNOFF RETENTION BASIN. THE CLOSURE PLAN CALLS FOR THE FOLLOWING HWMF INSTALLATIONS WHICH WOULD BE REQUIRED TO CLOSE HWMF: LEACHATE COLLECTION AND REMOVAL SYSTEM, LEACHATE TREATMENT SYSTEM, CLOSURE SUBGRADES, GAS MONITORING/COLLECTION SYSTEM, SEISMIC STABILITY BERM AND RETAINING WALL, FINAL COVER & RELATED ANCILLARY ACTVITIES.
