Document Description
The California Department of Toxic Substances Control (DTSC) has adopted an Addendum to the previous Negative Declaration and approved renewal of the RCRA Equivalent Hazardous Waste Facility Permit (Permit) for the Safety-Kleen Systems, Inc. Santa Ana Facility (Facility). The renewal of the Permit reauthorizes the Facility to collect spent cleaning solutions and solvents, in addition to collecting spent dry cleaning waste, automotive painting waste and lacquer thinner, used antifreeze, and used oil. The collected wastes are stored at the Facility, in a 12,000-gallon Underground Storage Tank, two container storage areas, until the wastes are shipped off-site to a permitted treatment, storage, and/or disposal facility. The Facility also washes used drums for reuse at the Return and Fill Unit. In addition to the activities subject to the Permit, the Facility stores cleaning products in two 12,000-gallon Underground Storage Tanks and distributes cleaning equipment, solvents, and solutions to customers. No new construction or expansion of any activities and operations will occur from the levels analyzed in the 1993 Final Initial Study / Negative Declaration.
