As part of their 2000 Dual Sport National Trail Ride, the American Motorcycle Association (District 37, Dual Sport Committee) proposes to use approved routes of travel in portions of the California Desert Conservation Area administered by BLM's Field Offices in Barstow, Needles, and Ridgecrest, California and BLM's Field Office in Las Vegas, Nevada. They have applied to BLM for a Special Recreation Permit (8370-1) for the event.
