Document Description
Major Project components include reconstructing the south grit tanks and adjacent pump gallery and replacing the grit processing headworks building with an odor controlled drive through facility and new grit processing equipment.
Improvements to the south grit tanks include: widening and deepening the channels and relocating the tank influent and effluent ports to increase detention time, increasing the slope of the tank bottoms to promote grit migration, and installing longitudinal and transverse baffles to enhance grit removal.
The new headworks building will include grit storage and loading facilities. New gravitational classifiers will replace the existing cyclone grit separators. The building will provide through loading capability and new odor control equipment to help with odor containment.
