Document Description
The STPUD A-line Phase III project entails replacing approximately 5,475 feet of the existing 24-inch pipeline with a 30-inch pipeline. Direcitonal drilling will be used to place the pipeline, which will extend from the Wastewater Treatment Plant, cross under Trout Creek to Barbara Avenue, parallel Barbara Ave. to the intersection with Beecher Ave., and end near the STPUD Upper Truckee River Pump Station,. A portion of the pipeline includes 1,100 feet below the Trout Creek Stream Environment Zone. There will be no impacts to SEZs. The STPUD proposes to use CTC-owned parcels as a staging area for heavy equipment and the temporary site for welding sections of the new steel pipe together (prior to placement). The pipe will be set 1 foot off the ground on large rollers that will extend (approximately 1,100 feet) over up to 17 parcels along Barbara Avenue. Staging will be required ofr approximately 2 weeks and may involve removing some sagebrush and a few small Jeffrey pines (less than 6" dbh), which is not significant.
