Document Description
The project as approved by the Department of Corrections consists of activities necessary to construct and operate a State prison located on 480 acres approximately 2.5 miles west of downtown Delano. The project will be capable of accommodating up to 5,160 male inmates at capacity. The project will employ up to 1,600 employees depending on overcrowding levels. Mitigation measures as identified in the required Statement of Findings have been incorporated, as required, into this project's Mitigation Monitoring program as a condition of project approval.
