Document Description
The Water Supply and Transmission System Project consists of three components which together would meet the project objective of providing a safe, economical, and reliable waer supply to meet the defined future water supply needs in the Agency's service area. These three components are: 1) water conservation, which involves the implementation of water conservation measures that would result in the savings of approximately 6,600 acre-feet per year (AFY), and expansion of the water education program; 2) increased use of the Russian River Project which includes increasing the amount of water released from storage in Lake Sonoma and diverted from the Russian River (a combination of re-diversion of stored water and direct diversion of winter flow) by 26,000 AFY, thereby increasing the total amount of diversion from 75,000 to 101,000 AFY; and 3) expansion and revised operation of the existing transmission system which involves increasing the transmission system capacity by 57 million gallons per day (mgd), thereby increasing the total capacity of the transmission system from 92 to 149 mgd.
