Document Description
The proposed permitting activity is for the abandonment of five wells within the Huntington Beach Oil Field, Orange County. Work will involve placing cement plugs from 4390 feet to surface, ensure cement to surface, cut casing strings at 5 feet below ground, ensure all annuli filled with cement, perform leak test, ensure no leaks, backfill, and remediate per regulations. Temporary equipment includes pumps, return bins, rig, crew vehicles, and trucks to transport materials. The plug and abandonment of wells is contemplated once production has come to an end or if a well is deemed to be unproducible. A notice will be submitted for the plugging and abandonment of wells, and the wells will be abandoned to California Geologic Energy Management Division (CalGEM) standards.?The project activity(s) being permitted by CalGEM is within the scope of the Upper Main Zone Cooperative Waterflood Project. CalGEM, as the CEQA Responsible Agency, approved permit(s) for CRPC to abandon the wells listed below, in the Huntington Beach Oil Field in Orange County.
