Document Description
CDFG is executing a Lake and Streambed Alteration Agreement pursuant to Section 1603 of the Fish and Game Code to the project applicant, Michael Battaglia, Standard Pacific Homes. The applicant proposes to alter the streambed and bank in order to construct the Walnut Hills Development Project which consists of a subdivision and development of 268 single-family residential lots, an 18-hole championship public golf course including driving range and manufactured slopes, clubhouse and related uses on a 550 acre site. In addition, 240 acres of the 550 acre site will remain as open space, of which approximately 162 acres will be left natural and the remaining 78 acres will be manufactured with native vegetation. The proposed project permanently impacts 0.38 acre of the streambank and bank, with mulefat scrub habitat, for the placement of the golf course and residential units. In addition, approximately 0.3 acre of jurisdictional ephemeral drainages with oak/walnut woodland habitat will be impacted by the project. The project will permanently impact coast live oak woodland (6.19 acres), California walnut woodland (18.22 acres), walnut/oak woodland (23.49 acres), and sumac/walnut/oak woodland (0.60 acres) habitat and 64.56 acres of coastal sage scrub habitat throughout the project site.
