Adoption of amendments to the City of Santa Clara General Plan, consisting of updates to the Housing Element and the Land Use Element of the General Plan. Adoption of the 2002-2010 update of the Land Use and Housing Elements will establish that the City has the capacity for the construction of up to 11,291 housing units between July 1, 1999 and January 1, 2011, primarily through Mixed Use developments. More than 6,339 of these units could be constructed by the end of 2006, consistent with the City's Fair Share Numbers as determined by the association of Bay Area Governments. Of the 6,339 units, 1,294 units should be affordable to very low income households, 590 units should be affordable to low income households, and 1,786 units should be affordable to moderate income households.
