Document Description
The project is CDFG's issuance of an Agreement Regarding Proposed Stream Alteration (SAA #5-169-99)("agreement") to Catellus Residential Group ("applicant") in conjunction with the applicant's proposal to alter Hastings Canyon and three unnamed drainages, tributary to Ballona Creek in order to develop a 44 acre site into a single family residential neighborhood. The streambeds will be filled, impacting 0. 15 acre of streambeds, of which contains approximately 0. 04 acre of wetland habitat and 0. 11 acre of Diegan sage scrub habitat. All impacts are permanent. The Operator shall mitigate for the loss of 0. 44 acre Diegan sage scrub habitat on site (4: 1 ratio for non-wetland impacts). The Operator shall mitigate for permanent impacts to 0. 04 acres of wetlands by (a) creating or restoring 0. 08 acres of riparin habitat at a Department approved location or (b) by providing adequate funding for the creation or restoration of 0. 08 acre of riparian habitat to an organization currently conducting restoration or enhancement of riparian habitat, with the organization and its activities to be approved by the Department.
