Document Description
The California Department of Fish and Wildlife (CDFW) has executed a major amendment to Streambed Alteration Agreement number 1600-2014-0014-R6 [Revision 2], pursuant to section 1602 of the Fish and Game Code to the project Applicant, Metropolitan Water District of Southern California. The Lake Mathews and Cajalco Creek Dam and Detention Basins Long-term Routine Maintenance Project includes the long-term, ongoing routine maintenance of ten (10) existing facilities at Lake Mathews, including: the Cajalco Creek Dam and Detention Basin, Lake Mathews Sediment Basins 1-4, underdrain, North and South spillways, and two weirs (Weirs 1 and 2). The amendment includes a revision of the project description for the maintenance of the Cajalco Creek Dam and Detention Basin (CCDDB). Specifically, the amendment includes the removal of the phasing requirement for routine maintenance of the CCDDB. The original Agreement allows for the annual sediment and vegetation removal of 2.65 acres, this acreage is revised to 7.04 acres (annually). Authorized project impacts of up to 24.84 acres were revised to 21.28 acres of Fish and Game Code section 1600 et seq. resources.
