Document Description
The proposed project involves amending the Redevelopment Plan (the "Plan Amendment") for the Central Los Gatos Redevelopment Project (the "Project Area"), extending the deadline for the Redevelopment Agency of the Town of Los Gatos (the "Redevelopment Agency") to commence eminent domain proceedings by twelve years. The Redevelopment Plan was adopted by the Town Council of the Town of Los Gatos by Ordinance No. 1882, dated November 25, 1991, as amended by Ordinance No. 1992, adopted on December 5, 1994. Section 33333.4(g)(2) of the California Community Redevelopment Law (CRL; Health and Safety Code Section 33000 et seq.) which governs the adoption, implementation, and amendment of redevelopment plans, provides that the authority of a redevelopment agency to use eminent domain to acquire property in a redevelopment project area expires twelve years after adoption of the redevelopment plan or the last amendment to the plan establishing the eminent domain authority.
