The purpose of the project is to improve continuity, safety, and capacity by widening the existing 2-lane conventional highway to a 4-lane expressway. New right of way will be acquired from agricultural lands, business/residential properties, state and county properties. Some existing SR180 right of way will be abandoned. The project includes residential/maintenance access roads, utility easements, and new crossings constructed over 8 waterways.
