A DISTRIBUTION SUBSTGATION IS A COMBINATION OF SWITCHING, CONTROLLING AND VOLTAGE STEPDOWN EQUIPMENT ARRANGED TO REDUCE SUBTRANSMISS- ION VOLTAGE (69,000 VOLTS OR 69KV) TO PRIMARY DISTRIBUTION VOLTAGE (12,000 VOLTS OR 12KV). THE 12KV ELECTRICAL ENERGY CAN THEN BE DISTRIBUTED TO CUSTOMERS.
