THE PROFECT IS LOCATED ON STATE ROUTE 198, IN FRESNO CO. BETWEEN ROUTE 33 AND LASSEN AVE. (RT. 269). THE EXISTING ROADWAY IS ABOUT 22 FEET WIDE WHICH IS BELOW THE CURRENT MINIMUM STANDARD. THE EXISTING 200-FOOT RADIUS CURVE AT POST MILE 22.9 WILL BE CORRECTED TO MEET CURRECT MINIMUM STANDARDS. APPRIOXIMATELY FIVE ACRES OF FORAGING HABITAT FOR THE SAN JOAQUIN KIT FOX WILL BE CONVERTED TO PAVEMENT. MITIGATION ACTIONS RECOMMENDED BE THE U.S. FISH AND WILDLIFE SERVICE AND THE CALIFORNIA DEPARTMENT OF FISH AND GAME WILL BE FOLLOWED, AND 15 ACRES OF HABITAT WILL BE PURCHASED OFF SIT FOR KIT FOX HABITAT.
