THE PROJECT IS THE ADOPTION BY THE DEPARTMENT OF HEALTH SERVICES (DHS) OF REGULATIONS WHICH ESTABLISH THE LEVEL OF TREATMENT REQUIRED FOR NON-RCRA FOUNDRY SAND WASTES PRIOR TO LAND DISPOSAL. THE HAZARDOUS WASTE MANAGEMENT ACT OF 1986 (HWMS, SENATE SILL 1500, ROBERTI) REQUIRES DHS TO ADOPT TREATMENT STANDARDS FOR HAZARDOUS WASTE DISPOSED IN A HAZARDOUS WASTE LAND DISPOSAL FACILITY.
