- Document Description
- The lease agreement, as amended in 2013, provides for renovations to the Coliseum and management of the Coliseum by USC. USC proposes to renovate the Coliseum as previously contemplated in the Original Renovation Project EIR with some modifications. The renovations proposed by USC include restoring the peristyle to more closely resemble the stadium's original design; replacing every seat in the stadium; increasing the number of aisles, seat width and leg room in many sections ; adding handrails throughout the stadium for safety; constructing a new structure on the south side of the stadium with a new concourse, suites, loge boxes, club seating and remodeled press box; improving audio and visual components; upgrading Wi-Fi and DAS technology for better connectivity; and replacing mechanical, electrical and plumbing systems to meet current standards. Specific modifications to the Original renovation Project primarily include a reduction in the number of luxury suites from 200 suites to 44 suites, reducing the size of the press box from approx. .25,000 sq. ft. to 17,400 sq. ft., reducing concession-related facilities from approx. 35,0000 sq. ft. to 24,500 sq. ft., and reducing ancillary structures from 44,000 sq. ft. (two 20,000-sq. ft. structures and 4,0000 sq. ft. of ancillary structure) to 18,000 sq. ft. The proposed modifications also include the addition of 24 outdoor loge boxes and 1,065 outdoor club seats. With the proposed modifications, the reduction in the maximum seating capacity from 92,500 seats to 78,000 seats previously contemplated under the Original Renovation Project would continue to be implemented.
