SWRCB is a responsible agency for this project. The SWRCB's Safe Drinking Water State Revolving Fund Program is providing state funds for the project. The City of Santa Barbara proposes to reactivate the desalination facility in the following ways: replacement of some filter feed pump station and chemical storage facility equipment at the chemical storage facility; replacement/upgrades of the reverse osmosis membrane, pumping systems, and ancillary structures; construction of a brine effluent monitoring station and ancillary structures; converting an existing well into a monitoring well, replacement of pipeline and ancillary structures, and addition of piping; and replacement of power and communication wiring, intake screens, pumps, and check valves.
