Document Description
The project consists of construction of a concrete-lined canal, parallel to the AAC for a distance of 23 miles. Centerline of the new canal will be offset from the old centerline of the existing canal by a distance of 195 to 850 feet, depending on terrain, ease of construction, and location of existing structures. It is estimated that 392 acres of desert scrub and 258 acres of sand dune habitat will be permanently loss due to construction of the canal.
