Document Description
The project consists of two phases and includes various street improvements: 1) extension and widening of Newport Ave.; 2) widening of, and addition of one travel lane in each direction on Newport Ave.; 3) construction of a new intersection at Edinger Ave. and Newport Ave.; 4) construction of a railroad bridge to allow Newport Ave. to pass under the railroad tracks; 5) rerouting of a flood control channel to a box culvert to allow Newport Ave. to pass over the flood channel; 6) reconfiguration of the Edinger Ave. northbound SR-55 on and off ramps; 7) widening of Valencia Ave. on the north side to four travel lanes; 8) widening of Del Amo Ave. to four lanes and realignment to intersect with Newport Ave.; 9) construction of new Edinger Ave. and Newport Ave. intersection; 10) provision of new and modified signalization at certain intersections; 11) addition of new landscaping, medians and parkways along northbound SR-55 ramps and the southerly Newport Ave. extension; 12) right-of-way acquisition; 13) formation of a utility undergrounding district; 14) possible formation of an assessment district and/or community facilities district. A boundary reorganization is also proposed.
