THE PROJECT CONSISTS OF THE CONVERSION OF AN EXISTING COUNTRY ESTATE TO AN HISTORIC PARK. THE ESTATE WAS THE HOME OF PROMINENT 19TH CENTURY ACTRESS HELENA MODJESKA FROM 1888 TO 1906. THE PURPOSE OF THE MODJESKA HISTORIC PARK IS TO PROVIDE A CULTURAL, RECREATIONAL AND EDUCATIONAL OPPORTUNITY IN THAT HISTORIC SETTING WHICH DEPICTS THE LIFE AND CHARACTER OF MADAME HELENA MODJESKA AND ASSOCIATED HISTORICAL THEMES. THE MODJESKA ESTATE IS LISTED IN THE NATIONAL REGISTER OF HISTORIC PLACES.
