NEW COUNTY JAIL TO BE LOCATED UNDERGROUND WITHIN THE SOUTH SLOPE OF A HILL IMMEDIATELY WEST OF THE PRESENT COUNTY JAIL AT THE MARIN COUNTY CIVIC CENTER IN SAN RAFAEL. THE BUILDING WOULD BE LOCATED WITHIN THE HILLSIDE LAND COVERED BY EARTH TO RETAIN THE SHAPE OF THE EXISTING HILLSIDE KNOLL WITH ONLY THE ENTRANCE AND TOPS OF THE LIGHT WELLS VISIBLE.
