OBJECTIVES OF THE PROPOSED PROJECT ARE TO SATISFY STATE HEALTH DEPT. REQUIREMENTS FOR ADDITIONAL TREATMENT, TO UPGRADE THE DISTRICT'S ABILITY TO UTILIZE SURFACE WATER SOURCES DURING PERIODS OF INCREASED TURBIDITY, AND TO BRING THE BIG CON RESERVOIR AND SURROUNDING SITE UP TO PRESENT SEISMIC STANDARDS. PROPOSED PROJECTS WILL UPGRADE THE DISTRICT'S FACILITIES BY IMPROVING WATER AVAILABILITY TO ITS CUSTOMERS, AND ENSURE SLOPE STABILITY IN THE AREA OF THE NEW STEEL WATER STORAGE TANK AND WATER TREATMENT FACILITY. THERE WILL BE NO INCREASE IN WATER DIVERSIONS, OR INCREASE IN WATER SERVICE CAPABILITY AS A RESULT OF THIS PROJECT.
