INTERIM IMPROVEMENT TO EXISTING FACILITIES AND CONSTRUCTION OF NEW STRUCTURES AT THE ABOVE NAMED TREATMENT PLANT TO EXPAND ITS CAPACITY FROM 0.6 MGD TO 1.0 MGD. THIS INTERIM PROJECT IS DESIGNED TO PROVIDE A LOW COST INCREASE IN TREAT- MENT CAPACITY TO MEET THE IMMEDIATE DEMANDS OF CONTINUING GROWTH IN THE AREA. PROPOSED IMPROVEMENTS WILL BE DESIGNED TO BECOME PART OF THE MAJOR UPGRADE TO A CAPACITY OF 1.5 MGD AND TERTIARY TREATMENT CAPABILITIES AS IS REVIEWED IN THE ORIGINAL SANTA MARIA WASTEWATER TREATMENT FACILITY EIR.
