Document Description
The California Department of Fish and Wildlife (CDFW) has executed Lake and Streambed Alteration Agreement number 1600-2014-0226-R6, pursuant to section 1602 of the Fish and Game Code to the project Applicant, the San Bernardino County Flood Control District. The project is limited to the widening and deepening of the Basins 3/3A, 4 & 5, collectively termed the Upper Cactus Basins, and the Cactus Channel to an average depth of 50 feet, the realignment of the Basins with Cactus Channel to the north and Rialto Channel to the south, the construction of Division of Safety of Dams (DSOD) earthen dams between Basins 3/3A and 4, and between Basins 4 and 5, and various appurtenant structures. The construction of the project will impact a total of 86.4 acres, consisting of temporary impacts to 45.3 acres of alluvial fan sage scrub and 10.6 acres of streambed, as well as permanent impacts to 6.1 acres of Riversidian alluvial fan sage scrub (RAFSS), 15.5 acres of streambed, 7.6 acres of willow cottonwood woodland, 0.1 acre of chaparral, and 1.2 acres of mulefat scrub.
