Document Description
The California Department of Fish and Wildlife (CDFW) has executed Lake and Streambed Alteration Agreement number 1600-2020-0094-R5, pursuant to section 1602 of the Fish and Game Code to the project Applicant, Sherwood Valley HOA, as represented by Tina Nakamura. The whole of the project is to conduct routine maintenance of 6 debris basins and Carlisle Inlet within the Sherwood Valley HOA. The HOA plans to remove sediment, silt, and debris to provide sedimentation capacity and keep these materials from entering and filling up the lake. Most of the proposed work will utilize one long-reach excavator and one or two dump trucks to haul materials to deposition sites. In basins 3, 4 and the Carlisle Inlet, heavy equipment could potentially involve an excavator, amphibious excavator, bulldozer and other mechanical sediment removal equipment. Sediment will be removed from the basins and inlet on a case by case basis dependent upon sediment loads. The sediment will be moved out of the basins and stockpiled at two locations within HOA property. Deposition site #1 is located at the end of Ladbrook Way where it intersects Stafford Road. Deposition site #2 access is located at the intersection of Norfield Court and Melford Court. Vegetation will be minimally impacted at each basin and no native trees will be cut down.
