Document Description
The Stanislaus County proposes to expand the existing permitted 219-acre Fink Road Landfill onto a portion of 2,418 acres of adjacent property owned by the County. The proposed expansion would provide a long-term disposal site for municipal solid wastes generated in the county and surrounding areas. Approximately 831 acres would be developed into a Class III landfill and ancillary facilities over a period of 55 years. The proposed operational changes include increasing the average volume of waste accepted at the existing Fink Road Landfill from 1,500 tons per day (tpd) to 5,000 tpd and increasing the peak volume of wastes from 2,400 tpd to 6,500 tpd. In addition, a 3-year bioreactor pilot/demonstration program is proposed within a 5-acre area of the landfill expansion.
