The main causeway of the pier to be constructed, will be six (6) feet wide by approximately one hundred and fifty-six point five (156.5) feet in length with an attached pier head forty-five (45) feet in length by ten (10) feet in width. An adjustable catwalk three (3) feet in width by thirty (30) feet in length will be attached to one side of the pierhead and a twelve thousand (12,000) pound boatlift will be attached to the opposite side of the pierhead. The overall project will be limited to the following activities: 1) Installation of a turbidity and debris curtain surrounding the pier to be demolished. 2) Removal of the existing pier including all decking and support pilings. All work will be conducted via a barge mounted excavator and hand crews from the water side of the project area. 3) Off-site disposal for all debris associated with the demolished pier in an approved disposal facility. 4) Pile driving of eighteen (18) steel pipe pilings each eight and five eighths (8 5/8) inch diameter to support the main pier and pier head. 5) Pile driving of two (2) “H” pilings to support the boat lift attached to the pierhead. 6) Nine (9) square feet of fish habitat enhancements will be installed as rock/cobble pyramids under the causeway portion of the pier. All work will be conducted via barge mounted equipment.
