The proposed interim remedial measures will be installed just upstream of the spillway inlet and at the base of the spillway chute (plunge pool) to provide risk reduction to the San Dam performance. This project is compatible with the environment setting and follows Rehabilitation. Work will: At the Spillway Inlet - Install approximately six gabion baskets to supplement the existing trash rack at the culvert inlet. The gabion baskets will be constructed and spaced apart to allow free-flow of storm water between the gabions to the culvert and spillway. At the Plunge Pool - Rock riprap will be placed at the base of the existing spillway chute to armor the exposed native subgrade soil and protect against additional scouring. Rock riprap will be used for erosion protection; no manufactured materials will be used that could degrade water quality,https://ceqanet.opr.ca.gov/2022100023,Emergency Interim Remedial Measures for Sand Dam Embankment and Spillway,Joel Bonilla,California State Parks,Environmental Coordinator,joel.bonilla@parks.ca.gov,"221 Harvard Street, Suite 200",,Sacramento,CA,95815,2794991205,39°12'34.2"N 121°3'26.2"W,Grass Valley,Nevada,,East Empire Street and Empire Ct,95945,,,,,,,,,,,,,,Emergency Project,Sec. 21080(b)(4); 15269(b)(c),The Project entails emergency repairs to publicly or privately owned service facilities necessary to maintain service essential to the public health and safety.
