Decommissioning of the diversion consists of filling an open-ditch conveyance built into the south bank of the Pit River with cobbles and earthen material originally displaced by creation of the diversion. A small, tracked excavator will access the site via an existing road/trail system and pull existing native bank materials and boulders back into place along an approximately ten to twelve-foot segment of riverbank. Restoring the bank segment will require placement of approximately 30-50 cubic feet of material. Once the initial placement of material seals off the diversion and flow of water, additional displaced native material may be used to continue filling the canal to discourage future use. A corrugated metal pipe culvert within the canal will also be removed once it is naturally dewatered.",https://ceqanet.opr.ca.gov/2022070211,PGE Pit River Diversion Decommissioning Project (Lake or Streambed Alteration Agreement No. EPIMS-SHA-31765-R1),Matthew Mitchell,California Department of Fish and Wildlife,Senior Environmental Scientist,matthew.mitchell@wildlife.ca.gov,601 Locust Street,,Redding,CA,96001,5307822942,,,Shasta,Shasta,,,,022-330-011-000,,Pit River,,,,,,,,,,Categorical Exemption,"Class 4; California Code of Regulations, title 14, section 15304",The proposed project consists of the decommissioning of an existing diversion facility which requires minor earth movement and no removal of mature trees.,,,,,,,,,,,,
